Jesus Second Coming! Matthew 24:40-41
“Then shall two be in the field, the one “be taken”, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall “be taken” the other left.” Comment: What we have here is a description of Jesus second coming to earth. The Greek word, Strong’s #3880 for our English word “be taken”, means to receive oneself to who you are associated with. Remember the rapture of the church has already occurred and the seven year tribulation period has concluded with the second coming of Christ back to earth! The ones left behind that have not been martyred during the tribulation period are kept for Christ and his millennium reign on earth! The ones taken are those reserved for judgment! Pastor Robert Jeffress, First Baptist Church, Dallas Texas
Only Two Ways! Romans 6:4
Hot or cold, right or wrong, abundance or lack, day or night, peace or war, light or darkness, freedom or slavery, innocent or guilty, satisfied or hungry, sight or blind, righteousness or evil, rain or drought, honor or dishonor, marriage or divorce, male or female, respect or disrespect, love or hate, creation or evolution, incarnation or reincarnation, birth or abortion, legal or illegal, citizen or alien, law or lawlessness, obedience or disobedience, loyalty or rebellion, authority or anarchy, heaven or hell, death or resurrection, burial or cremation and forgiveness or guilt. There are only one of two ways God cleanses or purifies his creation! Either through judgment or redemption! Which way he uses on you depends on what you do with his Son Jesus Christ! There is a way that seems right unto a man but those ways lead to death! The opposite of eternal life is eternal death! The choice is in our own hands! It would be foolish to reject those hands who were nailed on the Cross for your sin who took your place as guilty! You cannot acquit yourself of your sin! It takes the love of God to do it! Pastor Oscar Cope, Mount Vernon Baptist Church, Fairburn, Georgia.
Faith Hope Love 1 Corinthians 13:13
Love is greatest yet let us not forget this! Love gives but faith takes! The little boy in love gave two small fish and five loaves to Jesus! Jesus took the meal or appropriated faith and multiplied it to feed the crowd! The love of God does you no good unless you take it in faith! To reject his love and not take the blessings is foolish! Without faith it is impossible to please God! The thief on the Cross took Jesus love in faith! You should be a giver but you have nothing to give unless you are a taker! Take his love not just for yourself but for others! Pastor Joseph Prince
Faith & Doubt!
Faith and doubt will always exist together. Belief is choosing faith over doubt! Pastor David Yonggi Cho
A New Way of Living!
If man had his way, the plan of redemption would be an endless and bloody conflict! In reality, salvation was bought not by Jesus fist, but by His nail-pierced hands; not by muscle but by love; not by vengeance but by forgiveness; not by force but by sacrifice. Jesus Christ surrendered in order that He might win; He destroyed His enemies by dying for them and conquered death by allowing death to conquer Him! Pastor A. W. Tozer (1897-1963) Comment: Man could never achieve by himself what God has done for us and enabled us to model our lives after him! That is to live and die one day at a time with love for our fellow man the only motivation for what we say and do! To sacrifice for others rather than sacrifice others for ourselves! To trust God allows us to love our fellow man knowing our outcome is based upon His love! Happy Easter
Why Did He Leave Home?
Usually when someone goes on a vacation they leave home! Jesus the Son of God left Heaven his home to come to earth! Born of a virgin to live and suffer on a Cross for you! Jesus left home so you could go home! He has added great value to your life! Jesus has prepared a place for you in Heaven! Our lives are only precious because Jesus made them precious in his sacrifice for us! Jesus values you more than any human you will ever meet here on earth! Why? Because he is not just human he is God! One mortal cannot save another mortal! Only God the immortal can save us mortals and he has for those that trust him over themselves! Happy Easter! Pastor Oscar Cope.
How Important is Easter?
Without the resurrection, Christianity would be so much wishful thinking, taking its place alongside all other human philosophy and religious speculation! Pastor John MacAthur
Watch! Witness! Worship!
These three words describes the actions of all the participants of the first Christmas night! Jesus light pushes back the darkness of your life! The Angel’s, the wise men and the shepherds all watched that night in great wonder! God did not accomplish the birth of his Son all by himself! He engaged the help of his creation to get the job done! From the lowest to the highest in cultural rankings he used people who were watching for him! The shepherds were raising a special breed of sheep! They were broad tailed sheep that were only used for sacrifice! Remember Cain and Abel? Cain’s vegetarian sacrifice was not accepted by God however his brother Abel made an animal or blood sacrifice that was acceptable to God! Abel was a shepherd! The Shepherd’s were culturally familiar with every manger in Bethlehem! By contrast the wise men of the East were men of science studying the scriptures and astronomy! They could have been Persians, Iraqis or even Jews! The Arab’s would have been familiar with the Jewish scriptures since the Jews were captives in Babylon for 70 years! We assume there were three wise men from the three gifts however traveling across the Arabian desert would require a caravan of people for supplies and safety! These men were wise because they were watching for God! They were looking for him! Are you looking for God? They had read the scriptures and were looking for that special star! They were educated in the sciences of astronomy and scripture! They were so familiar with the stars they would recognize a new star! Are you so familiar with the scriptures you would recognize Christ’s second coming? So they watched the scriptures and the signs in the heavens! The Angel’s watched that night from Heaven and earth! They were watching those who were watching for God! If you want God’s attention look for him! You may have temporary success in this life and people will watch you for awhile but then they will move on to the next celebrity! They will forget you! When we get God’s attention he will remember you forever! King Herod was not looking for Jesus! However when he discovered he had missed Jesus he took revenge on the small babies of Bethlehem! When the world misses Jesus second coming they will cry and wail and take revenge out on one another! This season is a great opportunity for us to watch, witness and worship Jesus! If you do eternal life with Christ is the gift under his tree that will never perish! Source: Pastor Oscar Cope Message. James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com
What Jesus Wants for Christmas?
Well, it is Jesus birthday so what does he want? Since I was a little child I always was asked what I want for Christmas? The gifts were for me! I though it was all about me! Jesus gave us the greatest gift but what do with it? Do I treat the gifts as precious? Could I give Jesus more of my time? The time is not mine because he created time! Could I give him gold like the wise men? The streets of Heaven are paved with gold and besides the scriptures declare he is more precious than silver or gold! Could I pray more? He is interceding for me right now at the right hand of the Father! Could I love him more? He first loved me! Could I live for him? He gave his life for me! Could I put sinners under his Christmas tree? Could I put the lost souls of this generation under his tree? Could I present worms turned to butterfly’s under his tree? Could I help to populate Heaven and earth with Saints! Forgiven sinners? Only by his power and grace! Can I do anything without Jesus? I can sin and live a selfish life away from him! I can work death instead of life! Because of him I do not have to do that! I think the best thing I can do for Christmas is receive his gift of Salvation and eternal life and share his gift with others! Happy Birthday Jesus! Pastor Oscar Cope, Mount Vernon Baptist Church, Fairburn, Georgia.
