God’s Witness in You!
Psalm 119:2 “Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and seek him with the whole heart.” Comment: We are going to look at three Hebrew words in this scripture. We have already defined “Blessed”, in Psalm 119:1. So in verse two we have the word “keep”. Keep used here means to guard, protect, obey, preserve, as one who would guard a vineyard or a watchman on the wall! We are to protect and guard the Holy scriptures! Or do we get careless and allow the Bible to be removed from schools? To hide truth from our children and replace the truth with lies? The scriptures are to be preserved for future generations! The next Hebrew word is the word “testimonies”. The word means to be a witness! Like in a court trial! Testify to what you saw and heard! We are to take ownership of our testimony! Our whole Bible is a Book of Testimonies! Another Hebrew root word linked to the English word testimonies means to duplicate or repeat! So both Old and New Testament prophets duplicated or repeated what they saw and heard in the presence of God! The Old Testament prophets predicted the birth place and the time of Christ’s birth 600 years before the event! No guessing here! Let me give you an example of a 21st Century prophet! His name is Kim Clements. In 2007 he prophesized a man by the name of Trump will come to power in the highest office of our land! This was even before Obama was elected! Then in 2013 Kim mentions his first name Donald and says his political opposition will cry, Impeach! Impeach! Impeach! Yet he says they will fail! Today 2/5/2020, this prophecy will come to pass! Then Kim went on to say Trump will be re-elected in 2020! So a true prophet just repeats or duplicates what God has shown him! My testimony for Christ is what he has done for me! What he is speaking to me! It may or may not be for public knowledge! I had a vision of 9-11 months before the attack! I saw piles of white powder in the streets of New York City! I did not understand the vision until after it happened! Jesus raised me from the dead in 1973! That has been my testimony until now! When you hand out a Gospel Tract in a Walmart to a store clerk you are being a testimony! When you witness Christ in a prison you are being a testimony! When you preach the Gospel in a foreign land you are being a witness! The last word in verse two is the word “heart”. Our heart is the central motive of all our actions! It is the totality of man’s nature! The whole spectrum of human emotions come from your heart! Jesus said we must be born again! A new heart! Change my heart of God! Make it ever true! Psalm 119:1 English Translation: “Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the way of the Lord.” Comment: There is more here than meets the eye especially if we look at the four Hebrew words in this verse of scripture! The first word is “Blessed.” It means to be level, right and thus happy! No guilt! Not condemned but forgiven! No guilt! To be right with God! Forgiven of sin! The next word “undefiled” means to be completely free of blemishes! To be whole and faultless before God! Simply to be forgiven! Here is the foundation for the word undefiled. It means to be free from sacrificial sacrifices! God through his Son Christ became your sacrificial sacrifice! If you reject Christ then you become the sacrifice for your own sin! Judgment and eternal fire follow you all the days of your life! The third Hebrew word is the word “way.” It is to live your life in such a way that involves worship! Jesus said I am the way! To walk the talk of God! Bible reading and study! Regular church attendance! Tithes and offerings! Evangelism outreach to the community and to the world! You follow the way or Christ alone! You do not mix the mind of God or scriptures with the ideologies of the world! What would be some examples? Creation versus Evolution! Hitler believed according to his quote the way you speed up evolution by millions of years is to get rid of the undesirables! So who became his undesirables? Jews and Christians! The teaching of evolution in our public schools is moving our culture to the point where Jews and Christians have become the enemy of good! Life versus abortion! Gender clarity versus gender confusion! Law versus lawless! Border versus borderless! Heaven and hell both have borders! Marriage versus divorce! Marriage versus marriageless! Sanctuary versus Prison! The list is much longer but will address more later. The last word “law” is the divine laws of God given to man. The Ten Commandments! The law of sacrifice! Laws to live by! Redemption! People who live their life with God in mind! Living their lives according to his Word! Worship involves your total being! Body, soul and mind! Your trinity has to be joined to the trinity of God! You will either be married to God or the Devil! The church is married to Christ! Do you want to become one with God with no divisions? Replace Christianity With What?
One of the peculiar sins of the 20th Century which we have developed to a very high level is the sin of credulity. It has been said that when human beings stop believing in God they believe in nothing! The truth is much worse: they believe in anything. Malcolm Muggeridge (1903-1990) Journalist Comment: When we believe in something based upon no evidence or theories based upon theories we are subject to believe anything! This has led America into the 21st Century with no foundation where families and governments are crumbling! God designed the family so Satan brings in every theory to the mind of man to break down the family! Abortion! Divorce! Gay Marriage! Homosexuality! Open borders! Sanctuary cities! Assault on authority and Law enforcement! Legalizing Drug use! Child pornography! Abduction of young girls for prostitution! Lesbianism! transgenderism! Anti-Christian promotions! Evolution replacing Creation! Control of our children through Public Education! Will America continue its abandonment of Judeo-Christian values? The dietary laws in the Old Testament forbid us to eat certain foods such as pork, fish without scales, shrimp, ect. Why? They are the meats containing the highest cholesterol and creatures feeding off the bottom of the water beds intake the most pollutants! Fish with scales feed off the top of the water! They are clean! The virus from China is a result of the culture eating bats! The Ebola virus out of Africa had the same bats at its source! This means these cultures had periods in their history where they starved and ate anything! So these creatures became a part of their cultural foods! Some Christians ignore the Old Testament to their own peril! The birth of socialism is a rejection of God and his Commandments! Stealing what does not belong to you is a sin! If America does not come back to God then history will show a great nation comes to not by the rejection of Christ and his Biblical principles!
