Matthew 24:7 Commentary: Jesus disciples asked him what will be the signs of your second coming? What will be the signs of the end of the world? Jesus gave us the signs in Chapter twenty four of Matthew! One of those signs was pestilences in diverse places! The word pestilence in both the Hebrew and the Greek means plagues and diseases. When you put all of these signs together in Chapter 24 the end times becomes very clear! It is very near! The Lord told Daniel in Daniel 12:4, to seal up the Book for the times of the end when people would run to and fro and knowledge would increase! We had the Black Plague in the 1350’s spread from Asia into Europe. In 2009 we had the H1N1 Swine flu. Daniel when he talked about running to and fro was talking about air travel! These plagues can be spread very rapidly today! The economic impact is already taking effect on the economies of the world! Even though your Bible was written thousands of years ago it is like reading front page news! Jesus prophetic words along with Daniel and many other prophets are true! They will or already have come to pass! Men still try to build their Tower of Babel today! The prophecy of the persecution of Christians and Jews is all in Matthew 24! Why? Satan knows his time is short here on earth! He will ramp up his persecution of humanity for his time will end for his attempted destruction of man! The author of these calamities is Satan not God! Satan’s whole purpose from the Garden of Eden forward was to do the crime and then blame it on God! Jesus second coming is to redeem the world from destruction executed by Satan! Until Satan is defeated this chaos will continue in the earth! Satan was defeated on the Cross! Greater is Christ in you than he (Satan), who is in the world! God has given us dietary laws to protect us from disease! In Leviticus it says do not eat birds of prey such as bats! Do not eat pork, shrimp, fish without scales, ect. But even some Christians do not take the Bible seriously! The Word of God protects you! It saves you and heals you from all your diseases! Call on the name of Jesus to deliver you from your sin! Your disease all authored by Satan! The deception of Satan is to try to get you to doubt God and his Word and chose your own ways! His ways are higher than our ways! Jesus is the way, the truth and the life! Jesus has promised to raise us from the dead! Believers unto eternal life and unbelievers unto eternal judgment! End of the World? Matthew Chapter 24!
About 2000 years ago Jesus disciples asked Him the signs of the end of the age? I suppose we are all curious as His disciples were? Jesus summed it up this way; 1. Many false Christ’s would come. 2. Wars and rumours of wars but end not yet. 3. Famines, pestilences,earthquakes in diverse places. 4. You shall be hated and killed of all nations for my name’s sake. 5. Many shall betray one another and hate one another. 6. Many false prophets shall arise and deceive many. 7. Iniquity shall abound and the love of many shall wax cold. 8. He that shall edure to the end shall be saved. 9. This Gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations, and then the end shall come! Comments; We have little control or no control over the first 8 events! However the last event number nine we as Christian’s can all participate in!
