Loss of First Love Caused by Sin! Revelation 2:6

“But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.” Commentary: Notice Jesus said he does not hate the Nicolaitans but hates their deeds! This confirms the entire theme of the Bible that God judges us not by race, gender, economic status, language, cultural popularity, religion but by character alone! However we cannot have the character of God without God! Jesus makes that possible! So who were the Nicolaitans? The name in the Greek means to conquer or subdue people! This is what sin does! This cult group were the descendants of Nicolas of Antioch an ordained deacon! See Acts 6:5. He came from out of paganism into Judaism and then to Christianity! He changed religions many times! He was not afraid to switch religions when he found it convenient! He taught the doctrine of compromise! He believed there was more than one way to God like Christians today who cling to Darwinism and then try to hang on to Christ? Occultism was a major force that warred against the early church! In Ephesus the primary pagan cult was the worship of Diana (Artenis). The Nicolaitans mixed paganism with Christianity. Much like the Hindus do today where every road leads to God including Christianity! Does not matter which road you take all roads lead to the same place! This results with a diluted Christianity with no power and no conviction! It is a worldly kind of Christianity! No borders, no law, no rules anything goes! Homosexuality fine! Gay marriage great! Abortion good! Lawlessness something to be desired! This evil fruit of the Nicolaitans lead to people engaging and approving sin completing Satan’s power over them to conquer and imprison them through the sin that God rejects and died for on a Cross! Love Light or Darkness?

John 3:19-20 Words of Jesus: “And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone that doeth evil hateth the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.” Commentary: Men reject Christ because he interferes with the way they want to live! Pastor Greg Laurie

Love in the Church! 1 John 4:20

“If a man say, I love God, and hateth his [brother], he is a liar; for he that loveth not his brother who he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?” Commentary: Brother Strong’s # 80. Adelphos (brother), Adelphe (sister). The word brother in the Greek is used here as a more distant relationship and many believe this circumstance means refers to brothers and sisters in Christ or the church. So the Apostle John is giving a directive to the church. Now we love everyone when we share Christ with them! But some will reject his love! God has offered redemption to all regardless of race, gender or political affiliation! If this love is not displayed in the church it will be hard to take it to the world! I just had a sister in the Lord remind me we are to pray for our political leaders! I do and I also get frustrated when they make stupid decisions that hurt Americans especially the middle class workers! I reminded her that the disciples prayed for Caesar yet he martyred them! I am sure in the German church some were praying for Hitler! Yet those Pastor’s that opposed him were martyred! I think we can oppose a wicked leader yet pray for him! The Lord told Paul he must go to Rome to be a witness for me! Do not worry what you shall say to the leaders for I will give you the words to say! Love Made Perfect! 1 John 4:17

“Herein is our love [made perfect], that we my have boldness in the day of [judgment] : because he is, so are we in this world.” Commentary: “Made perfect” in the Greek again means to finish or complete the work of Christ enabling him and qualifying him to discharge his duties as judge of all men! Did you know you are an enabler! You by your choice enable Christ to either convict you or forgive you of your sin! “Judgment” means to pass a sentence on all men separating them from heaven or hell depending on their decision about the judge! Judgment is a double edged sword because it produces two very different outcomes! God’s judgment through his Son will either save you or condemn you! Judgment is done by law! The penalty of death for our sin! As a Christian I can only have confidence on judgment day after my death because I have accepted the death of Jesus on the Cross for my sin! He took my judgment of death upon himself! He was sinless yet took my place on the gallows for my sin! The Father (sorry Nancy), has rendered all judgment unto the Son! Both the living and the dead! I would never want to fall into the hands of an angry God! But to reject Christ does just that! God’s anger was appeased by the sacrifice of his Son on the Cross for our sin! Now we as forgiven can forgive others! Do you want to take your future and eternity into your own hands? Jesus hands were nailed to a Cross for you! Are you a forgiven angel or a devil unforgiven? All depends on what you do with Christ! Reject him or accept him? Your choice! To reject the love of God establishes an eternity separated from him! Jesus on the Cross said not my will but thy will be done! He chose death for you in your place! He arose from the dead for you! Jesus will one day raise you from the dead! To either everlasting life or everlasting punishment! The only way you could reject his love is to believe the lie that he is not what he says he is! Violence & Love!

1 John 4:11 “Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought to love one another.” Commentary: After the riots and burning over the past year and the Capital riots our worth comes from the God that loves us! Our behavior only confirms we need the Savior! If God first loved us then our net worth is equal! We are to love each other because God loves all of us! I am reminded of John 3:16. True love sacrifices for others! Fake love sacrifices others for themselves! True love went to a Cross! For God so loved the world that he gave! Gave his only Son! Most of the rioters on the Capitol were sacrificing for Trump as the rioters last summer who attacked cities and the White House were sacrificing for the political left! However this is all misplaced love because it hurt and destroyed other people who God loves! Two wrongs never make a right! The rhetoric and violence must stop on both sides because if either side thinks they can win through violence then we will have our second civil war! God first loved us yet even today many reject him! Jesus sacrificed himself on a Cross as we mocked him and spit on him! This is the love of God that makes us worthy of redemption! Jesus commanded us to love our enemies! That is what God did for all of us! Notice Jesus did not agree with his enemies that is you and me! Herod that fox! Rich man sell all you have and give to the poor! Repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand! King Herod said to Jesus do you know I have political power to destroy you! I will never agree with the enemies of God! Abortion! Same sex marriage! Homosexuality and the list goes on! Why? Because God calls this sin! If our nation is to survive then we must come in agreement with God! Divisions are always there! One heaven and one hell. One Christ and one Anti-Christ! One Savior and one Satan! America should be one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all! Justice and liberty was achieved for all of us when God went to the Cross for our sins! If divisions over Christ continue in our culture then only destruction will follow! Divisions can be reduced by sacrificially loving one another! That day in 1973 when I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior I came into agreement with God! Peace! Joy! Blessings! Freedom! Healings! Redemption! Love! Wisdom! God Initiated Love!

1 John 4:10 Greek Translation “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and [sent] forth on a mission to bless, redeem, rule and harvest as a sickle among thorns his Son to be the [propitiation] to appease God because of Christ’s sacrifice reconciling us to God being both the sacrifice and High Priest for our [sins]or our actions against God that cause us to miss our true purpose in God for us.” Commentary: These words speak for themselves! I love to go back to the original language because often we get a clearer picture of what God is saying to us! You can trust your Bible but study and show yourself approved unto God! So how does this 1st Century scripture apply to other cultures and 21st American culture? What stands out to me as you measure history against God’s Word? The sea change opposing scripture came in the 19th Century with Charles Darwin’s Theory of Evolution! The lie that the evolutionists believe here in America is that we are evolving and we are getting better with time! History refutes this theory! About 50 percent of the American electorate believe this lie and causes them to believe either there is no God or we need no God! The truth as proved by history is according to this scripture and others in my Bible says man cannot make it without God! However fools still say there is no God and Darwin has given them a phony science to support their error! Darwin has sent more people to hell than any other ideology devised by men! The same ideaology in the Garden of Eden repeated by Satan is; “Did God really say?” Our challenges to disclose this lie told to our children is significant and will require great efforts to overcome! How to Love God?

Men can only show love back to God by showing God’s love to men! Peter do you love me? Do you love me? Do you love me? Yes Lord you know I do! Then feed my sheep! Take my Gospel to the ends of the earth! Take my love to Caesar in Rome! Be a testimony there! In just a few short Centuries you will be head of a New Church in Rome! Love Hate Relationship!

The State particularly the Democrats love the church when they follow their installed rules of silence when it comes to supporting political candidates who oppose Biblical values and others who support Biblical values! The church is bought off with money from a tax exempt status for shutting up! However after the church in their silence of cultural war issues and the candidates supporting each side when the Democrats win an election they want to shut down the church completely after using their silence to their advantage! The Trump installed three conservative new members of the Supreme Court by a slim 5-4 decision prevented the State in New York and our other 49 States from shutting down the church! The biggest rub to the Democrats about the church is two fold! They hate Biblical morality and a church that pays no taxes! For the church with the left possibly taking over the Executive branch and possibly a majority in the Senate their cake is going to be taken away! To pay taxes would be better than losing our free speech Constitutional rights to support and name political candidates who support Biblical values!
