Tempt the Lord? Old Testament!

Exodus 17:12 “Wherefore the people did chide or argue with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide with me? Wherefore do you [tempt] the Lord?” Commentary: The word “tempt” in the Hebrew means to test! Just like the Greek word for “tempt” the only thing that will tempt or test the Lord is our sin! Unbelief! Unconfessed sin! Unforgiven sin! Under these conditions we fall under judgment! Confess your sin to Christ and come under grace! Remember grace is God doing for you what you cannot do for yourself! There is a scripture that tells us that if we are in sin against God our prayers will not be answered! So even our
prayers can become sin if we have unconfessed sin to Christ! In both the Old and New Testaments the word “tempt” conform to the overall redemption plan of God! So Christ was prophesized in the Old Testament and came to earth in the New Testament as Savior of all men! So what happened to the Old Testament Saints when Christ had not come yet? Remember between the Sacrifice of Christ on the Cross and his Resurrection from the dead where was Jesus for those three days? The scriptures declare he went down to the heart of the earth and preached to the captives! So those Old Testament Saints that were looking for him with a redemptive attitude saw him and received him as Savior! Those that rejected him received his judgment! Are you looking for Jesus? Everyone will one day stand before him! Some to everlasting life and some to eternal judgment! The choice is yours to make! James & Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com

Tempting God!

I Corinthians 10:9 “Neither let us [tempt] Christ as some of them also [tempted], and were destroyed of serpents.” Commentary: So what does [tempt] mean? The Greek word Strong’s #1598, means refusing to believe God and his Word! What about [tempted], Strong’s # 3985. It means to try to prove God by soliciting sin! What did Jesus say in Matthew 4:7? “Jesus said unto him (Satan), It is written again, thou shalt not “tempt” the Lord thy God.” Satan is the tempter! Not God! When you challenge God with your sin you can expect a bad outcome! Jesus in our Lord’s prayer said, “Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.” When a homosexual, lesbian, transgender challenges God with their sin with no repentance then here comes Sodom and Gomorrah! Here comes the deadly AIDS epidemic! I do not like to use examples in the church but sadly there are some! Pastor Jamie Coots died after being bitten by a poisonous snake in a controversial religious service on February 17, 2014. The “snake handling” pastor of a small Pentecostal church in Kentucky died after being bitten by a rattlesnake during a weekend church service. I remember in India the years we were there in the Hindu Temples they would feed snakes and rats milk! There are are a ton of scriptures in your Bible on temptation and tempting God with sin! Jesus defeated Satan on the Cross! When Jesus was tempted by Satan what did Jesus say? “It is written man shall not live by bread but every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” If we neglect the Word of God bad things happen! Study and read your Bible everyday! Repentance leads to stopping your tempting of God! Unconfessed sin is tempting God and no mortal every won that challenge! James and Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com

Fools & Sin! Proverbs 14:9

“[Fools} [make a mock] at [sin]: but among the [righteous] there is [favor]”. Commentary: It seems like a short verse until you look up the Hebrew root words! Not complicated just the meanings of the words are expanded for clarity! So what is a fool? According to the Hebrew it is someone who is perverse, silly and stupid! Every family has at least one! To “make a mock” means to scorn, ridicule or “make mouths” or a foreign language no one understands! The sinner mocks God and sin! So what is sin? It means to be a law breaker guilty without reconciliation! Did you get that? Without reconciliation! We are all sinners yet some reconciled but others not! So who reconciled our sin to God? The Father? God’s Son Jesus Christ! Remember there are two types of sinners! Forgiven sinners and unforgiven sinners! Forgiven sinners in heaven and unforgiven sinners in hell! Now what does the word righteous mean? It means to be right with God in the eyes of God! So how do we get right with God? Repentance for our sin through God’s Son Jesus Christ! Then we positionally find “favor” with God! Favor means God’s goodwill and kindness towards us from a superior to an inferior! Repentance means pride has to go and humility replaces pride! Pride before the fall! The prideful are sinful and the humble are saved! Our attitude determines our altitude! Heaven above or hell beneath! The choice is up to you! James & Hamsa Sasse. More Signs End Times! II Timothy 3:3

“[Without natural affection], [truce-breakers], [false accusers], [incontinent], fierce, [despisers of those that are good].” Commentary: There are many more signs listed in Chapter three but we will cover the five words or phrases listed in this verse taken from the Greek language. Biblical principles are absorbed in small dosages best! Even if you eat an elephant it is just one bite at a time! That is why we study and read our Bible everyday! We pray everyday! We attend church at least once a week! We already covered “without natural affection” in an earlier post. Meaning no family love! Divorce, gay marriage, homosexuality, lesbianism, transgenderism, racism, gender neutrality are all attacks on the family! The next words “truce-breakers” describes the spirit in a person that rejects any terms of reconciliation! He is at war with God and man and is irreconcilable! He refuses to give up his enmity! He cannot forgive! He rejects God’s Salvation! Refuses to be reconciled to the Father through his Son for his sin! The next words “false accuser’ is where we get our English word devil! Satan is the accuser of the brethren! Satan told Eve in the Garden of Eden that God is a liar! Some today still believe the lie! The next word is “incontinent”. It means without self control! Tom Brady advised his team mates who have never been to a Super Bowl before that you must control your emotions! Otherwise we will get penalties that will defeat us! If self control ruled people there would be no crime! God tempers our emotions with control! The last words in this scripture is “despisers of those that are good”. This describes people who will sacrifice people even their own family for personal gain! They will sacrifice their nation for personal gain! Bribes by politicians from foreign governments! Godly people sacrifice themselves for other people! For their nation! God’s Kingdom is a sacrificial Kingdom! He sacrificed his Son for our sin! We sacrifice for others with the same love of God and what he has done for us! God’s Kingdom and Satan’s Kingdom are opposites of each other! James & Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com
