Honey the batteries are dead again on our weight scale! Would you please replace the batteries again for me? Why do these batteries die a lot on this scale? Maybe because you drive the numbers so high when you get on it? You do not have to get on your scale three times a day? You should get on the scale too because you are overweight! Are you happy being overweight? No I am not! I will worry about it when I get older! You are already in your seventies so when will you start? When it comes time for my funeral! As long as I can get an extra wide coffin I will not worry about my weight! How can I lose weight? By getting out of your wheel chair once in a while!

Tempting Christ! Mark 8:11-12

“And the Pharisees came forth, and began to question him (Jesus), tempting him, and he sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith, Why doth this generation seek after a sign? Verily I say unto you. There shall no sign be given unto this generation.” Commentary: Remember to tempt means to prove by soliciting to sin! Unbelief in God! Satan sins against God and men! He deceives men to believe his lies! Jesus was telling the religious rulers all the signs of the Messiah listed in the Pentateuch or the Torah and all the Old Testament writings of the coming Messiah were standing before them! Hey you dudes your religion has become your God! Your politics has become your God! Not me! Why are you so slow of hearing? Your culture has become your God! Did you flunk Theology 101? I raise the dead! I heal the blind! Your ideology and theology will never do that! You have a form of religion but deny the power of God! You are going to crucify God on a Cross! But it is necessary for you and your sin! Why are you in unbelief about me? Today in the 21st Century the same problem we meet in evangelizing for Christ on planet earth! Everyone has the same problem Satan has! They want to be God! Many are not willing to surrender their sin for his righteousness! Master of their own destiny headed for hell! They want to gamble their eternity in heaven for one in hell! For the temporary pleasures of this life! Unbelief in Christ is to tempt God! Put God to a foolish test with their sin! Rather than repent and receive his salvation receive judgment on their own heads! God chose suffering on a bloody Cross to take your sin away from you to escape the judgment of God! He will remember your sin no more! If you are going to escape judgment you will have to remember him! This do in remembrance of me! Everyday in your worship of Christ! God fixed your evil on a Cross! Ageless Male?

My son-in-law had a birthday yesterday! I asked him how old he was? He told me 25? I told him he looked older for his age! When I was a teenager under 18 years of age I lied to get into adult venues! When I became middle age I told business places I was old enough to get a senior discount! Now in my old age I tell the truth about my age! Last week I purchased a can of carburetor cleaner at Walmart. Because it is a chemical the scanner stops and a clerk has to check the merchandise! I told the clerk I was over 18 years old! I asked her if she wanted to see my driver’s license? She said no I believe because you have to be 18 times 5! Like Rodney Dangerfield says you just get no respect! Never ask a woman her age even your wife! You could start a riot! I do not look in a mirror anymore except to see if my head is still attached to my body? My wife still wears out mirrors! My millionaire uncle has a ten thousand dollar mirror in his mansion! I looked into it but does not help me! Ageless male products sell because people believe the lie that it will change your age! Problem & Solution!

Isaiah 7:11-12, 14 “Ask thee a sign of the Lord thy God, ask it either in the depth, or in the height above. But King Ahaz said, I will not ask neither will [tempt] the Lord. Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign: Behold a virgin shall conceive and bear a son and shall call him Immanuel.” Commentary: King Ahaz was under siege! Juda was threatened by foreign armies! Yet he was a wise man! He answered Isaiah wisely! He was not going to tempt the Lord with unbelief! Let the Lord give me a sign I will not request it! Are we sign seekers in our prayers? All our signs are listed in your Bible! Lord let’s make a deal! If I win the lottery then I will serve you! Are you a sign seeker prayer? Do not pile on stuff for the Lord he would never approve! Be thankful for what you have! Your two fish and five loaves can feed the multitudes if God blesses it! The Lord sent King Ahaz a sign for the troubles and temptations of evil men! Lead us not into tempting God but deliver us from evil! When you pray for the lost and do something sacrificially to support ministries the salvation of the lost is a sign! So what was the sign given to King Ahaz? A virgin shall bear a son! This happened hundreds of years after the death of King Ahaz! Verse 15 goes on to say Jesus will refuse the evil and choose the good! Jesus had to make a choice to leave heaven and suffer on a Cross for our sin! That is real love! To deliver us from tempting God with our sin! To take our judgment! He could have stayed in heaven! Let us perish! Where was the first sin committed? Not in the Garden of Eden but in heaven! Lucifer had it made as choir director of heaven yet wanted more! He wanted to be God! Men on earth who reject Christ today want to be God! This is tempting God with their sin! Judgment follows unrepentant sin through the Son of God Jesus Christ! Is he your Savior or judge?
