There are only two types of sinners! Forgiven sinners and unforgiven sinners! Forgiven sinners on earth and in heaven and unforgiven sinners on earth and in hell. This is the Gospel in a nut shell. Follow the leader not the loser! Prior to the win of the Super Bowl by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a team member in the locker room prior to a game came up to Tom Brady and expressed his regret that he did not make the Pro-Bowl team. Brady replied that players who do not win Super Bowls play in the Pro-Bowl games! The Pro-Bowl is for losers! We are after the game that really counts! The Super Bowl! Never settle for second place! Why risk your body and life for a game that makes no sense? Let us together go after the prize! We risk everything for the prize! Why risk everything playing with the losers? Never settle for a substitute prize! Commentary: I follow Jesus because he is the winner! He conquered death, hell and the grave for me! He beat Satan at his own game! Death and destruction transformed into life and victory! My life and purpose was secured by his victory over death and the grave! Mike Tyson was interviewed years ago and was asked his key to success in the boxing ring? He replied the key to winning is when I go into the ring I have to be better than who I am! Great leaders make you better than who you are! They bring out the best in you! Brady makes a team better than who they are! But Brady cannot conquer death! There is only one that has done that! Tempt the Lord? Old Testament!
Exodus 17:12 “Wherefore the people did chide or argue with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide with me? Wherefore do you [tempt] the Lord?” Commentary: The word “tempt” in the Hebrew means to test! Just like the Greek word for “tempt” the only thing that will tempt or test the Lord is our sin! Unbelief! Unconfessed sin! Unforgiven sin! Under these conditions we fall under judgment! Confess your sin to Christ and come under grace! Remember grace is God doing for you what you cannot do for yourself! There is a scripture that tells us that if we are in sin against God our prayers will not be answered! So even our
prayers can become sin if we have unconfessed sin to Christ! In both the Old and New Testaments the word “tempt” conform to the overall redemption plan of God! So Christ was prophesized in the Old Testament and came to earth in the New Testament as Savior of all men! So what happened to the Old Testament Saints when Christ had not come yet? Remember between the Sacrifice of Christ on the Cross and his Resurrection from the dead where was Jesus for those three days? The scriptures declare he went down to the heart of the earth and preached to the captives! So those Old Testament Saints that were looking for him with a redemptive attitude saw him and received him as Savior! Those that rejected him received his judgment! Are you looking for Jesus? Love in the Church! 1 John 4:20
“If a man say, I love God, and hateth his [brother], he is a liar; for he that loveth not his brother who he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?” Commentary: Brother Strong’s # 80. Adelphos (brother), Adelphe (sister). The word brother in the Greek is used here as a more distant relationship and many believe this circumstance means refers to brothers and sisters in Christ or the church. So the Apostle John is giving a directive to the church. Now we love everyone when we share Christ with them! But some will reject his love! God has offered redemption to all regardless of race, gender or political affiliation! If this love is not displayed in the church it will be hard to take it to the world! I just had a sister in the Lord remind me we are to pray for our political leaders! I do and I also get frustrated when they make stupid decisions that hurt Americans especially the middle class workers! I reminded her that the disciples prayed for Caesar yet he martyred them! I am sure in the German church some were praying for Hitler! Yet those Pastor’s that opposed him were martyred! I think we can oppose a wicked leader yet pray for him! The Lord told Paul he must go to Rome to be a witness for me! Do not worry what you shall say to the leaders for I will give you the words to say! The End of the World?
As a young kid in high school back in the 1960’s I saw a picture on the front of Time Magazine that showed this bum carrying a sign walking in Times Square in New York City saying the end of the world has come! I thought maybe for him? I would say today maybe we are much closer? Certainly some in this world might think so with the world wide pandemic! Sadly for about 350 thousand Americans over this past year it has come to an end! At least in this life! I saw watching an NFL playoff game last night that the NFL players are supporters of Criminal Social Justice Reform! I hope I got that right? The words sound good but what does it mean? In the political correct world we live in today you have to translate these things! What is social justice? For everyone? Who would be the poster boy for a Criminal Reformed Justice Warrior? Charles Manson? You could send money to his cell block but he passed on in 2017. The Lord help his soul! And his victims! Now the banning of Christian conservative content on social media platforms is moving forward at warp speed since the Democrats are taking control! Trump is building his own platform and as conservative content moves to other platforms great efforts by Twitter, Facebook, Google and YouTube are trying to shut these down! Do you see where this is going? America has been best known separated from other countries by freedom of speech and the debate of all idea’s! If the left has their platforms and the right has their platforms then they just become echo chambers for their own ideology! No debate can happen! There are no debates in Communist China, Russia, North Korea, Cuba and the list goes on! Will the day come to America where their are no debates? Right now people in America are being fired from their jobs for holding a particular political ideology? No promotions for you unless you hold the party line? You must carry water for the Democrats! Will they go after 75 million Trump supporters over the next four years? Will you not be able to buy a home or open a checking account or get a VISA card unless you hold a particular political ideology? This used to only happen in communist countries! Will you be shamed because you love Christ? If this same old bum back in the 1960’s were carrying this same sign in Times Square today he would get a lot of encouragement from the few that dare to walk the streets there! He would get a high five and an amen! Sorry not an amen but awoman! Sorry there! Please do not ban me! So where is all this going? Bible prophecy my friend being played out before your very eyes! In the Book of Revelation it says during the 7 year tribulation period ruled by the Anti-Christ and the False Prophet you will not be able to buy or sell without the Mark of the Beast! This world is coming to an end much sooner than even most Christians think! The Rapture of the Church is close at hand! The martyr of the Saints is increasing across the earth! Deaf to the Truth?
1 John 4:6 “We are of God: he that [knoweth] God [heareth] us; he that is not of God knoweth not us. Hereby know we the Spirit of truth, and the Spirit of [error].” Commentary: Let us examine the four bracketed Greek words in this passage of scripture. The first word is “knoweth.” How do we know God? Jesus said we must be born again! Not to just know about God but to personally know him! Knoweth means to know him by relationship like a man knowing his wife! Knowing with intuition! I know when my wife loves me and I know when my wife is mad at me! To perceive and understand and distinguish the character of God from all others! Our next word is “heareth.” In the Greek it means to hear with the ear of the mind! My biggest problem in school was I heard my teachers but my mind was somewhere else! Did you ever have this problem? During school I would think about what I was going to do when I got off the school bus back to the farm? My pet duck and my dog jigs would be patiently waiting for me at the end of the lane then walking back with me to the house! Jigs would wag his tail and so did my duck! School was a distraction for me! Then I would get my rifle and me and jigs would go rabbit hunting! Then I would feed my duck who ate out of my hands and take him for a swim in our cattle watering tank. I also had to feed my pet pigeons who lived in our smoke house where we cured sausage. You know you can go to church but your mind can be somewhere else. Then the Pastor wonders why his congregation is so dense? Unless we hear with our minds you will learn nothing! As Sergeant Schultz used to say on Hogan’s Hero’s, “I know nothing!” Our next word is “truth.” It is unveiled in a person! Truth is the unveiled reality lying at the basis of and agreeing with appearance of that reality! If you never agree with Christ and the Gospel you will never experience truth! Our last word is “error.” From the Greek word we get out English word fraudulent! You know like fraudulent elections! To reject the truth means by deceptions and lies about Christ you become a fraud! You will either follow the Spirit of truth or the Spirit of error! Do you reject the error or fraud of Darwin, Marxism, Communism, Socialism, Atheism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Secularism, Homosexualism, Lesbianism, Transsexualism, Gay marriage, Nazi, Fascism, Abortion, Cancel culture, Global warming and the Spirits of Anti-Christ? Overcome the World!
1 John 4:4 “Ye are of God, little children, and overcome them: because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.” Commentary: So what are we to overcome? The world! Sin in me and you! Overcome means to succeed, defeat, overpower and conquer! Has sin conquered you? Conquer in his name! The Apostle Paul says we are more than conquerors in Romans 8:37. What needed to be conquered in the 1st Century is the same foe in the 21st Century! God does not change and neither does Satan! Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever! My Bible is just as powerful today as the day it was written! The technology I studied 30 years ago is in the museum today! God’s word never changes! The 16th Century Bible of Martin Luther is the same Bible we have today! New discoveries in science make old science obsolete! However the same sciences have always been around since God created the world but we have just discovered some of them! When you make a discovery in your Bible through reading and studying that discovery will power you to seek more truth! Time and history will not change your Bible it will only reinforce it! The ‘he’ that is in you is Christ! The ‘he’ that is in the world is Satan! Man made ideologies that oppose the word of God! What are some? Will The Court Rule?
Our Supreme Court will either abstain or weigh in on our 2020 election challenges? It would take courage for them to take the Texas case! You have to do what is right even if it costs you everything! It cost God his Son on a Cross to do the right thing! This is the way most experts in Constitutional law see this case. Election laws are done by State legislatures. Any change to an election state law must be done by the legislative body of each state only according to our U.S. Constitution! No judge or election official can make a change not even the Supreme Court! Any changes to these election laws done by judges or election officials is unconstitutional! The only redress to these contested four states as I see it would be count all votes with existing law before any other changes that were made outside of existing state legislative laws! That would take votes away from Biden and Trump! That outcome whether Biden or Trump wins would be a legal constitutional election!
