Tempting God!

I Corinthians 10:9 “Neither let us [tempt] Christ as some of them also [tempted], and were destroyed of serpents.” Commentary: So what does [tempt] mean? The Greek word Strong’s #1598, means refusing to believe God and his Word! What about [tempted], Strong’s # 3985. It means to try to prove God by soliciting sin! What did Jesus say in Matthew 4:7? “Jesus said unto him (Satan), It is written again, thou shalt not “tempt” the Lord thy God.” Satan is the tempter! Not God! When you challenge God with your sin you can expect a bad outcome! Jesus in our Lord’s prayer said, “Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.” When a homosexual, lesbian, transgender challenges God with their sin with no repentance then here comes Sodom and Gomorrah! Here comes the deadly AIDS epidemic! I do not like to use examples in the church but sadly there are some! Pastor Jamie Coots died after being bitten by a poisonous snake in a controversial religious service on February 17, 2014. The “snake handling” pastor of a small Pentecostal church in Kentucky died after being bitten by a rattlesnake during a weekend church service. I remember in India the years we were there in the Hindu Temples they would feed snakes and rats milk! There are are a ton of scriptures in your Bible on temptation and tempting God with sin! Jesus defeated Satan on the Cross! When Jesus was tempted by Satan what did Jesus say? “It is written man shall not live by bread but every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” If we neglect the Word of God bad things happen! He Must Be God!

Socrates died with honor, surrounded by his disciples listening to the most tender words-the easiest death one could wish to die. Jesus dies in pain, dishonor, mockery, the object of universal cursing-the most horrible death that one could fear. At the receipt of the cup of poison, Socrates blesses him who could not give it to him without tears; Jesus, while suffering the sharpest pain, prays for his most bitter enemies. How Do You Know God Dwells in You?

1 John 4:15 “Whosoever shall [confess] that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he is in God.” Commentary: Well here is another sign! Does fear move into you when the thought comes to confess Jesus to your co-worker? Your friends? Your family? God has not given us a spirit of fear! Fearful of confessing Jesus to the bum in the street or the King in the Palace? Jesus took the Gospel to everyone he ever met! King Herod! The religious rulers! The maniac among the tombs! The woman caught in adultery! The woman at the well! Lazarus the dead man! The rich young ruler! His 12 disciples! His brothers! Jesus said if you are ashamed of me my Father in Heaven will be ashamed of you! If we are ashamed of him we have no relationship to him! Then we just become religious people! You will confess Christ to others or you will be ashamed of him! Over the past decades I have given out about ten Gospel tracts per day wherever I go! Most people you will only pass by once in your lifetime! I look for opportunities because I know how much Jesus loves me and loves them! I found Jesus on my death bed! He raised me from the dead for a mission on earth! I just have to share the Good News! The clerk at Walmart! At Kroger! At the gas station! The trash men picking up my trash! The office supply store! The Fed-EX guy! The county offices! The guy at Sam’s Club! The policemen! Paul shared the Gospel with the jailer in prison! Never a missed opportunity! Years going to prisons sharing Christ! To hospitals! Emergency rooms! Wherever I go! I will never forget the man working in the meat department at Walmart in Lexington Kentucky! We were just passing through! I gave him a Gospel tract and asked him to read on his break time! As I was leaving the store he came behind me and said thankyou! I was in doubt who was really God? Hinduism? Islam? Christianity? Now I understand Jesus is the true God! I never saw this man again! You know what will really be exciting about heaven? Meeting people there who you witnessed to and the people that planted Jesus into my life! Sunday school teachers! Pastors! Evangelists! The guy on the street corner confessing Christ! How Can We See God?

1 John 4:12 “No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God [dwelleth] in us, and his love is [perfected]in us.” Commentary: Do you remember the words of Jesus? He said if you have seen me you have seen the Father! We shall see two important Greek words in this passage bracketed above. The first word is “dwelleth”. It means to remain in and remain alive. Patience towards things and circumstances. Long suffering with patience towards people. We need his indwelling in us everyday producing the character of God within us! Especially under the stresses of the pandemic and political war! So how does God not continue to dwell in us? Only if we stop loving people! Does not matter political affiliation, race, religion or gender! Now when we take a look at the second word “perfected” things begin to come together in understanding of this passage! This word means to accomplish and complete our goal in unity with God! What is our goal? To be like God! Now comes the hard part of this goal! To be perfected we must suffer like Christ to love people! When you love people that hate you suffering will come! I thought if I loved everyone they would love me? Sorry friend not so! To be like God means to suffer! The Cross comes with the mission of God! No easy way! Love from the word Agape means a sacrificial love! Not a cheap love! It will cost you your very life! Prison! Condemnation! Mockery! A Cross! Stripes laid to your back! Spit upon! Laughed at! Marginalized! Are you ready to love people sacrificially as God does? Not every Christian is willing to pay the price! You cannot do this unless God dwells in you! Otherwise it is just religion! True love suffers! When Jesus ascended to the Father at Pentecost he promised to send the Holy Spirit to secure us until his second coming! Without the sacrificial blood of Christ and the Holy Spirit you will only be religious! We will fail without him! We cannot love people without Him! Receive Christ today to forgive your sin and then ask him to send you the Holy Spirit! Then love will flow out of you from the Throne of God like a river! James & Hamsa Sasse. GodWhoisGod.com

God Initiated Love!

1 John 4:10 Greek Translation “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and [sent] forth on a mission to bless, redeem, rule and harvest as a sickle among thorns his Son to be the [propitiation] to appease God because of Christ’s sacrifice reconciling us to God being both the sacrifice and High Priest for our [sins]or our actions against God that cause us to miss our true purpose in God for us.” Commentary: These words speak for themselves! I love to go back to the original language because often we get a clearer picture of what God is saying to us! You can trust your Bible but study and show yourself approved unto God! So how does this 1st Century scripture apply to other cultures and 21st American culture? What stands out to me as you measure history against God’s Word? The sea change opposing scripture came in the 19th Century with Charles Darwin’s Theory of Evolution! The lie that the evolutionists believe here in America is that we are evolving and we are getting better with time! History refutes this theory! About 50 percent of the American electorate believe this lie and causes them to believe either there is no God or we need no God! The truth as proved by history is according to this scripture and others in my Bible says man cannot make it without God! However fools still say there is no God and Darwin has given them a phony science to support their error! Darwin has sent more people to hell than any other ideology devised by men! The same ideaology in the Garden of Eden repeated by Satan is; “Did God really say?” Our challenges to disclose this lie told to our children is significant and will require great efforts to overcome! How to Love God?

Men can only show love back to God by showing God’s love to men! Peter do you love me? Do you love me? Do you love me? Yes Lord you know I do! Then feed my sheep! Take my Gospel to the ends of the earth! Take my love to Caesar in Rome! Be a testimony there! In just a few short Centuries you will be head of a New Church in Rome!
