“For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.” Commentary: Through the incarnation Jesus identified with our birth and our death! Planted together! You have to plant a seed before you get a harvest! The Greek word (Strong’s#4854), for planted together means to be combined and united together to grow! In the likeness or resemblance of his death! We must die to self before the new birth can come! A seed must die before it produces fruit! Jesus said we must be born again! God uses his power and authority to save us at a great cost! A sacrificial lamb for our redemption! Most humans use their political power to rule over us manipulating us with lies for their benefit! It seems at times Democracy at it’s best is like electing your own slave owners! God sacrificed for us as we are to do for others! The love of God is sacrificing for others! Until you have done this you have never lived with purpose! The Kingdom of God is a sacrificial system! Not sacrificing us for his benefit but sacrificing himself for our benefit! It is hard for me to see political Americans sacrificing us for their benefit! For their own gain! Our greatest leaders here in America like Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr. sacrificed themselves for our benefit! The list goes on by the millions of military members over our history! What is sin? Sin is sacrificing others for your benefit! That is what Satan does! How? Through rape, murder, robbery, identity fraud, abortion, open borders, drugs, extortion, lying, false witnesses, tax cheats, ransom, kidnapping, divorce, arson and the list goes on! How about war itself? Putin wants donations to help bury thousands of their war dead! He needs to pay for all the violence done against Ukraine and his own people! What about sin in the church? Stealing money! How about the 501c tax exempt status trading free speech for money? The church was silent on Trump during the 2020 elections and Biden got in and now we pay the price for silence! If Trump were in there would be no war in the Ukraine! So we just collect money for Ukraine by the non-profits and they continue being muted to speak out exercising our 1st Amendment! Jesus came to enable us to repent of our sin however it cost him his life! Who are you living for? Sin? The battle between good and evil will continue but whose side are we on? We are to forgive our enemies but if you cannot you are on the wrong side! God’s love identifies with the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ Can we identify with Christ? Pardon Me? Acts 5:4
“Ananias and Sapphira you have not lied just to human beings but to God.” Commentary: When we look at the 10 Commandments the first 4 Commandments are a sin against God and the last 6 Commandments are sins against men! Sin against men is pardonable but sin against God is unpardonable. Jesus disciples except for Judas fled for fear during his death on a Cross! Judas betrayed Jesus and Jesus said it would have been better had he never been born! According to the rooster Peter denied Jesus yet he repented and came back to be the leader of the Church in Jerusalem! Judas hung himself! The religious leaders and political leaders who were plotting Jesus death were sinning against God yet it opened the door to redemption to all of mankind! Peter did not deny God he ran from God out of fear! Jonah did not curse God he ran from God! Lucifer in the Garden of Eden lied about God to our first parents Adam and Eve! He told them God is a liar! Sadly they believed Satan rather than God! From that time we are all born with a sin nature which causes us to sin! Jesus said we must be born again! There were two criminals hanging on a cross on each side of Jesus! One thief repented and joined Jesus in paradise the first saved sinner to enter heaven! The other thief rejected Christ to eternal damnation! To reject Christ is an unpardonable sin! To receive Christ as Savior brings with him a pardon for your sins against man! Against God! Jesus is God in the flesh! The incarnation! Only God has the power to forgive sin! Yet if you reject the God who has forgiven your sin then what is left for You? Judgement! Jesus took your judgment on the Cross! To reject Christ is to take your own judgment! As we approach Easter do you think sharing Christ with others important? If you take anything away from Easter let it be the most important thing you will ever do in the short number of years we have left on this earth is to take the most important message in the entire world is the message of Jesus to this lost and dying world! Eternity is forever! With or without God! Are you trying to live without God? How is it going? Do you have peace and joy? Love for your enemies and the promise of eternal life with Christ forever? After the Resurrection ! Acts 4:13
“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived they were unlearned men, they marveled, and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.” Commentary: When you come to Christ people who knew you before your conversion will note that you have been with Jesus! They will not be able to explain your new life? Like you have been born again! Old things are passed away and all things become new! Through Christ you discover a new heaven and a new earth! You will pray for the sick and they shall recover! Demons will flee from you in the name of Jesus! Your words are no longer without power! However the religious folks will hate you! Your life will show them how futile and vain it is to trust in religious traditions! Traditions without power! Just like Peter you will be filled with the Holy Spirit! Peter and John reminded the religious leaders their efforts to crucify Christ only promoted the Gospel throughout the region! I did not come to Christ so I could show others their error! I came to Christ because my sin was destroying my life and I needed a rescue! After Christ I realized I must share the love of God with others who have not experienced the best thing that ever happened to me! As Easter is fast approaching let us remember what he has done for us and the power and love he has given to us and not to keep it for ourselves but to live for others as Christ lives for us! Your Worst Moment in this Life?
Do not let your worst moment in life define you! Martha wrote Jesus off when he missed being with Lazarus when he was sick and then Lazarus died! Martha said Jesus if you only would have been here he would not have died! You failed me Jesus! Then Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead! Statistics say any business owner will fail three times before success comes! Edison failed 1000 times at experiments before he invented the light bulb! How many NFL players get cut from several teams before becoming a champion? The crowds mocked Jesus hanging on the Cross trying to define him in his worst moment! Our sin and my sin is the worst moment in my life but it led me to the Cross! When I suffer I think of the Cross! Then to the third day after the Cross when he was raised from the dead! Died and rose again for you! Your worst moment when given to Christ will become your best moment! The world will persecute you and mock you for following Jesus but your best moment is yet to come! Christ will snatch a victory for you out of the jaws of defeat! Those that reject Christ become famous for snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory! Chicken or the Egg First? John 1:3
“All things were made by him, and without him was not anything made that was made.” Commentary: I grew up on a farm in Nebraska. One of my jobs as a little boy along with my little brother Tommy was to gather eggs from the hen house. It was not an easy job in that the old hens who could not lay anymore eggs would gather up about a dozen eggs from hens that could lay eggs and protect those eggs from anyone! So when we would try to steal her eggs she would peck us so hard we would bleed on the arms where she pecked us! So one day my grandpa Edgar asked me which came first Jimmy the chicken or the egg? I told my grandpa I did not know? Jimmy think about this? If you had the egg first you have no hen to sit on the egg and hatch it and then no mother to take care of the chick! If you had the chicken first as God describes in the creation of this world then the chickens that first existed could then lay the eggs and produce more chickens and give you food! Religion Hates Jesus! Matthew 21:15
“And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that Jesus did, and the children crying in the Temple, and saying, Hosanna to the Son of David, they were sore displeased.” Commentary: So what does the Greek word say for “they were sore displeased”? The word Strong’s #23 means they were greatly afflicted! Why? Their religion was just a side show with no power! No miracles! No power over Satan! So instead of commending Jesus for the wonderful miracles he was doing they began to plot his death! Religion really hates God! Even in churches sometimes religion will raise its ugly head! Spiritual growth will always involve politics and religion! After being a Christian over past 48 years I have accumulated some interesting stories! Some of my best but not all is while we were serving in India as missionaries from 1983-1987. In our second year in India we moved to a village on a mountain named Yercaud in South India. There was a strong presence of Catholics there because of their schools! Our little daughters attended Sacred Heart secondary school while we were living there! Good schools! While doing ministry there and the surrounding villages catholics including nuns and priests would come to us late at night for prayer! I asked them why do you come to us late at night like Nicodemus did? They told us that if the organizational leaders find out they will severly punish us! They will evict us from our houses on Catholic lands and deny us burial in a Catholic owned burial grounds! Organized religion is sometimes ugly! Yet it is necessary to the purposes of God even sometimes when it opposes God! I never viewed them as enemies but as friends in ministry even though they were trusting organization more than God! Housing was difficult to find in Yercaud so the Catholics had a parsonage come available. Most housing there was full of rats, snakes and scorpions! So ten priests interviewed me for the vacancy. Their last question was are you a member of the 10th Order of the Jesuits? I said no! Sorry we cannot help you! In the American church we have had troubles when a Pastor is trying to get along with popular culture such as homosexualism and we confront him with scriptures on the subject! We end up on the bad boy list and political isolation begins! Truth will always divide and separates from lies and deceptions! When you do what Jesus did you will find opposition from within and from without! It comes along with the mission! We try to get along but sometimes separation will come! The last example is a young Catholic priest came to us by night and expressed a need to separate from the Catholic church! He asked for prayer and we advised him to not do this unless God confirms to you to do this! Sometimes we told him we must risk all to follow Jesus! A month later he left the Catholic church and years later became a great evangelist across the State of Tamil Nadu! To do the will of God will cost you something and maybe everything except your relationship to Christ! That relationship is more precious that silver and more costly than gold! James & Hamsa Sasse. Signs of the Time! Daniel 7:25
“And he shall speak great words against the Most High or Supreme God, and shall wear out the saints Christians of the Most High, and think to change times and immutable laws: and they shall be given into his hand of power until a time and times and the dividing of time or the half of time.” Commentary: The Anti-Christ shall speak against all institutions whether Divine or human authority! He will speak and act in lawlessness and in unbelief! The little horn or the beast will be successful for a time and then will be destroyed! By wars, massacres and inquisitions Satan will persecute the followers of Jesus! The times and times and the dividing of time is talking about the 3 1/2 years of the 7 year tribulation period culminated with the second coming of Christ back to earth with the saints in heaven! It almost seems like all these signs are with us right now! The changing of laws! Homosexual marriage, promotion of transgenderism even to our children mandating laws opposed to the laws of God! Rebellion of all authority! There thus so far this year in America 101 police officers shot in the line of duty! Our cities becoming combat zones! No sovereignty over our borders being invaded by millions of illegal immigrants! Mandating by fiat blocking our natural resources such as gas and oil for the benefit of our people! Millions of Christians are suffering in Ukraine driven from their homes by war! Suffering by death and destruction by a wicked ruler in Russia! Speaking against the God of heaven and creator of all by our teachers in public institutions! Public authorities threatening more lock downs and freedoms of choice removed! Tearing down voting laws to win elections by corruption! Our public leaders not following the law! Leaders taking bribes from other countries who are enemies to America to change laws to benefit themselves!
