The Whole Deal!
1 Corinthians 1:30 “But of him ye are in Christ Jesus, who of God is create us [wisdom], [righteousness], and [sanctification], and [redemption].” Commentary: When we are in Christ Jesus in relationship with us he gives us the gifts we need to navigate life here on earth! We need to look at the four words I have bracketed above. The first word is wisdom! The Greek word is Sophia. Wisdom comes from above! Wisdom is not something we can acquire by our own efforts but is a gift from God given to us in relationship to him! Solomon asked God for wisdom not silver or gold! Wisdom brings prudence in our relationships and enables us to properly navigate our circumstances! Joseph in Egypt used wisdom of God to benefit the Jews living there and the Pharaoh and the Egyptians! Job lost everything and his wife told him to curse God and die! Job knew better and ended up with much more than he lost! The fear or reverence of God is the beginning of wisdom! A fool has said in his heart there is no God! Wisdom and fools are opposite each other! Our second word righteousness is probably the most misunderstood word in your Bible! Most people think well this action is on me? The Greek word is Dikalosume. We get our English word justice from this word. Lately we hear the word social justice all the time! To the world this word means rioting, stealing, burning down buildings through criminal activity to right another crime! It is not the justice of men that makes us righteous for all have sinned and have come short of the glory of God but it is the justice of God that makes us righteous! Justice is a claim on a higher authority in which we adopt as our own! Justice had to be meeted out on one for us all for all have sinned! God took the penalty of death for our sin upon himself on the Cross! When we embrace his justice then we are forgiven and justified before him and our righteousness is based on what he has done for us! Not based on our own merit but on his eternal love! We do not deserve it or earn it but a gift from God! Our next word is sanctification. The Greek word is Hagiasmos. The word means to be separated unto God Holy recognizing the rights of God are on my life! Recognizing my life is not my own rendering ownership unto my creator! This is why Darwin and his theory of evolution gets it so wrong! The lies of Darwin saying we are getting better with time when history proves him wrong! That we are evolving into a better species that history refutes! Men without Christ are always getting worse! To their own destruction! When we recognize our rights come from God then our responsibility to God and men is paramount! We belong to God by virtue of creation itself! We are not our own but bought with a price! If we are to be made better then it is by the actions or influence of God over our submitted lives to him! The covenant is God first recognizing you and you recognizing him and his exclusive authority over your life! God makes us holy because he is holy! The unholy cannot make anyone holy! Sanctification benefits those who are also separated unto God abstaining from sin! You benefit others who are sanctified! This is the importance of the Body of Christ! The world will think your holiness is a weakness and you are a fool! They will benefit very little from your good works for they will mock you! Consider all the good works Jesus did while on earth and what did they do with him? They will do the same to you! Ask his 12 disciples! The last word is redemption! The Greek word is Apolutrosis. We get our word ransomed from this word. That is a price was paid by God to free you from your sin! He gave his own life on a cruel instrument of death called the Cross! To give these four words of hope and power to live a victorious life! God sent Jesus into the earth to redeem lost men! We receive him by faith and not by any of our works! The work of God is eternal! To receive this gift we have to receive him! Receive what God has done for you today! Time is running out for all of us! Heaven and Hell weighs in the balance! Speaking the Truth!
Ephesians 4:5 Commentary: “Speaking the Truth”, are three English words used to express one Greek word. It means to express the actual truth in the reality of God’s love! Not a counterfeit love where with words we appear to love but the real love of God! There are two kinds of money. Real and counterfeit! One has value and the other worthless! The worthless Satan tries to pass himself off to you as real! Deception! The counterfeit will fool a lot of people but not the government who made the money! Our creator created love and expressed it to us here on earth! However his love and his Christ existed before time! Satan tries to counterfeit God’s love! He will give you a deceptive appearance like he cares for you yet wants to destroy you and separate you from the love of God! My Bible says anyone who tries to climb up to God in anyway except through Christ is a thief and a liar! Only Christ the Son of God can lead you to God! God sacrificed himself for your gain! Satan and his followers will try to sacrifice you for their gain! You are expendable to Satan! Satan’s only perceived gain is to drag you away from the love of God! So you can accompany him in hell! All ideologies are either based on truth or a lie! Jesus said i am the truth! The reality of truth is base in the God/man Christ! The spirit that dwells in you depends on who you are following! Life or death! Light or darkness! Love or hate! Redemption or judgment! Jesus said to pick up your Cross and follow me! The Cross represents suffering and sacrifice! Go and suffer and sacrifice yourself so others might understand the love of God! To comprehend the truth! Be the suffering servant to go to those that have no hope! God’s love was expressed in creation for you and then to a Cross! Your debt for your sin has been paid for! Truth and love were nailed to a Cross! Two things happen to you when your read your Bible! You discern the truth and then you can detect the counterfeit! Why is the Bible the number one best seller book in all of history yet it is the most banned book in all of history? Why? The Passover Virus!
Exodus 12:7 “And they shall take of the blood and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper doorpost of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.” Commentary: Death passed over and the plague missed my house! I took the application of this scripture and applied to my own house! I did not use the blood of sheep and goats but took red colored lipstick and applied to the front door of our house! When I applied the red color of blood I prayed let this be the blood of Christ who defeated all of our diseases! Let it be known me and my house shall serve the Lord! The red blood of Jesus reminds Satan of his defeat! Since putting our lighted Christmas Tree in front of our house I have already had opportunity to share with our neighbors that Jesus is the Light of the World! In him is no darkness! No plague! To some this may seem silly or superstitious but my protection comes not from my critics but from Christ! When people are dying all around you who cares what they say! When you put the red color on your side and top posts of your door it forms a Cross! The sacrificial blood of Christ has conquered death, hell and the grave for us! Your critics cannot raise you from the dead but Christ will! The Jews in Egypt were spared the death plague because the death angel saw the blood! Their first born were spared! There has been a decades long struggle of secularism and atheism to try to remove Christ from our culture! Now we need him but will they turn to him or choose to still reject him? We will find out soon! I have a small Cross on our front door! I remind God of who I serve and remind Satan you cannot touch me! Communion is about the Passover! The blood and the bread! The bread in Egypt was the consumed meat of the blood sacrifices of the sheep and the goats! Jesus said take of me with this bread which represents my body given in sacrifice for me! Take my blood as this wine represents my blood! Your judgment is passed over and the plague misses your household! Christ is the anti-virus! The Book of Leviticus warns us not to eat the bat and other birds of prey! The sin of one causes many to suffer but the sacrifice of Christ and his suffering has delivered us from sin! In the New Testament the Church is instructed to call for the Elders to pray for the sick and anoint them with oil! The Greek translation means to apply medicine and pray! Medicines are made from the elements of the earth and God created the earth! We were created from the elements of the earth! From the dust! You can trust the God who created you! You did not evolve! Only God makes us better! On our own without the guide of scriptures we eat bats! Obey our civil authorities! They are placed here by God! The government shall be upon his shoulders! Upon Christ! Christ The Anti-Virus!
My Christmas Tree is going up today in front of my house to remind my neighbors that there is hope beyond the grave and hope in this life! The name Coronavirus and its death plague is uttered from our lips too much! Replace this word in your vocabulary with “Christ the Anti-Virus” and utter it from your lips everyday until this plague is defeated! Urge your Pastor of your church to put up Christmas display lights today! You do not have to wait until Christmas but you can have the Savior today! Resist the Devil and he will flee from you! The Reluctant Church!
The tragedy is not that nonviolence did not work against the Nazis, but that it was so seldom utilized… The churches as a whole were to docile or anti-Semitic, and too ignorant of the nonviolent message of the Gospel, to act effectively to resist the Nazis or act in solitary with the Jews. Walter Wink Commentary: Jesus has more than one side! He overthrew the tables of the money changers in the Temple and called them a den of thieves! These were business people! He told the political leader Herod he was a fox! Jesus will judge the living and the dead some into everlasting life and some into everlasting judgment! The church sometimes over history has been out of balance! It was the church in Europe that raised an army to drive out the Muslim invaders! The cleverly devised 501c done by politicians has muted our Pastors across America! The American church is like the church living in Nazi Germany! However there were some German Pastors that were executed by Hitler for taking a stand for righteousness! Where are the voices of the American pastorate when it comes to abortion, homosexual marriage, transgenderism, lesbianism, Islam, socialism, open borders, sanctuary cities, drugs, sex changes for children, evolution and the list goes on? With a few exceptions they are as quiet as a dead church mouse! You have to resist the devil with your mouth! The words you speak from scripture! The bully pulpit has died in America! God is love because he hates sin! If we do not raise the standard of the Biblical Gospel and oppose evil in our own culture then we are wasting our time to show up at church every Sunday where our money is collected to feed the neutered church! The church disfunction and non- application to popular culture is in our own making! Resist the Devil and he will flee from you! The Church in America needs the courage to resist! The Wanderer!
Psalm 119:10 “With my whole heart I have sought thee: O let me not wander from thy Commandments.” Comment: Dion back in the 1960’s had a hit song named, “The Wanderer.” Some of his lyrics went like this; “She wore pearls and diamonds galore, she bought them down at the five and ten cent store, she though she was Za Za Gobor, but she was just the girl next door!” The Hebrew word wander used here means a gradual moving away from God! It is not abrupt as one would notice it! It is like the frog in the water pot. If you put him in boiling water directly he will jump out! However if you put him in cold water and gradually turn up the heat he will boil to death! People that move away from God do it in gradual steps! Bible reading becomes less and less important to you. Church attendance gradually drops off. His Commandments are gradually ignored. Tithes and offerings become too great a sacrifice for you! Sin becomes desirable when at one time it offended you! You begin to hang around people who have a contempt for God! Your soul no longer shudders within when people curse his name! You become immune to Holiness! You embrace sin and disgrace God! You are no longer pursuing God but the things of this world! King David recognized that this can come to any of us! We are to have the mind of Christ! As a man thinketh so is he! The mind of God is contained in your Bible! Meditate on his word! Memorize his word! Speak his word! Confess his word over your life! Let his promises become yours! Holy thoughts replace wicked thoughts! Repentance comes and a change of heart! No longer a divided heart with instability but a whole heart towards God with stability and confidence! God Holds The Answers!
