False Religions!

The Rich Young Ruler!

Matthew 19:16-30  Comment: We are all familiar with this story! So how would the rich young ruler be treated today in the 21st Century church? He would be worshiped like an idol! He would be heralded for his success and highly lifted up in the congregation! Brother rich man if you would give 20 percent of your income to our ministry you will even become richer! What did Jesus tell the rich man to do? Sell all he had and give to the poor then follow me! This is a hard saying! The rich man could not do it and walked away sad! His wealth had him! A slave to wealth! What question did the rich man have that brought up all of this? The rich man wanted to know how to inherit eternal life? He thought he had this life all figured out so he was concerned about the next life! However he did not understand what he was doing in this life was holding him up in the next life! If I gain the whole world what profits me if I lose my soul! The love of money is the root of all evil! Easier for an elephant to go through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter Heaven! Why did not Jesus tell the rich young ruler to sell all he had and give to a ministry? Give it into the Temple at Jerusalem? The religious leaders had the same problem! Love of money! I thank God I am not rich! He gives us our daily bread and the cares of today are sufficient! You may think you can have money and not love it but that is rare as hens teeth! Think about God! Spend time in His Word! Be thankful for what you have! Remember the woman who anointed Jesus feet with the expensive perfume for his burial! Judas got upset! We could have sold this and given to the poor! Jesus said the poor you will always have with you! Judas wanted the money! The poor are always with us because the rich love their money more than God and doing what we should to help the poor! What am I doing to help the poor? Perhaps a mission trip through your local church would help you to have the opportunity to help the poor! Jesus paid the price on the Cross to prepare eternal life for you! Follow! Revelation 14:13

Greek Translation: “And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed for my sake and worthy are those that have naturally died in the Lord who executes authority for good from this point forward. Yes saith the Spirit or breath of God that they may rest from their labors and their works of spreading the Gospel following them and preceding him.” Comment: One of the most fascinating words used in this passage of scripture in the English word “Follow.” The Greek word used here for follow really has two meanings! It means to follow and it means to go before! This is significant because although we follow after Jesus at the same time we go before him! That is in regards to his second coming! When you spread the Gospel into the earth you are also preparing the way just like John the Baptist did! Like the Old Testament Prophets did for his first coming! This helps us to understand this verse in the Book of Revelation! As you follow Christ you prepare the way for his second coming for others! To prepare people to escape the final judgment! This is why Evangelism is exponential! You share the love of God with just one person then that person tells another! Those younger generations pick up the truth and tell even younger people about Jesus! Sometimes you tell people older than you and they receive Christ before they pass on and later you meet them in heaven! It is interesting but we attended a large church for about ten years and the Pastor one Sunday asked the congregation how many have come to Christ through this ministry? One person out of a thousand raised their hand! Our Pastor understood the importance of personal Evangelism! When I came to Christ in 1973 in Denver Colorado at Calvary Temple Pastor Blair passed on about 10 years ago! His work follows him! If the work of Christ does not follow you then something is wrong! Wisdom! Nehemiah 8:10

In this world sorrow comes to all and it often comes with bitter agony! Perfect relief is not possible except with time. You cannot now believe that you will ever feel better. But this is not true. You are sure to be happy again! Knowing this, truly believing it will make you less miserable now! I have had enough experience to make this statement. Abraham Lincoln Comment: Job is one of the best examples in our Bible where he was successful then lost everything including his family! He lost his health also! Then he had his miserable friends who condemned him for surely he must be evil and deserved this outcome! Yet Satan paraded in front of God mocking him and challenging God that if you take away all the blessings you have given him he will then curse you! What Satan could not touch was Job’s faith in God! God restored everything Job had lost and even doubled all he had lost before the calamities! Lincoln lost everything including his life for our nation! Duty & Sacrifice!

Looking across this field, we see the scale of heroism and sacrifice! All who are buried here understood their duty! All stood to protect America. All carried with them memories of family that they hoped to keep safe by their sacrifice! President George W. Bush

Sanctuary District?

Washington D.C., is a parcel of land twelve square miles bordered by reality! President Andrew Johnson (1808-1875) Comment: So how can we make D.C., a happy place? To please the Democrats we can move the Executive branch to Russia! We can move the Congress along with Nancy to California! We can move Mitch along with the Senate to Kentucky! Then most important we can put up this twelve square mile plot of land up for sale to the highest bidder and take the sale proceeds and pay off our National Debt created by dishonest politicians! Judicial Watch! Revelation 11:18

Greek translation: “And the nations were angry, and thy wrath with the purpose of revenge is come, and the time of opportunity for the spiritual dead should be judged to divide and separate by a judicial decision based upon evidence and you shall give a reward to the Saints set apart for you the prophets who have predicted the future beforehand. To those that fear revenge of the name of the one that saves them both small and great and will destroy those who destroy the earth.” Comment: Here we see God having judicially tried all cases of men who have lived or ever will live! What a case load! You say well God has to hire more judges! No! He only has one judge! His name is Jesus Christ! Does Jesus have a strong case against us? All have sinned and come short of the Glory of God! So could I hire a smart attorney and get off the hook? The problem is your attorney is also on trial! Certainly my good works will save me! Your righteousness is as filthy rags! Like the rich young ruler we cannot give up what keeps us from Jesus! The evidence is overwhelming against us and that is what the world is so angry about! So what evidence if any could possibly save me from this judgment of death? Who could go in my place? God only has one substitute! His Son Jesus Christ who went to the Cross to take your judgment! To take your place! The world is angry because they have rejected their substitute sacrifice and no sacrifice remains for them so they receive their own judgment! God is only looking for the evidence that you repented of your sin and walked away from your sin! Repented through Jesus Christ! All judgment is left unto the Son! He knows where everyone stands! Where do you stand right now? You could step off into eternity anytime at any place! My Bible says after death the judgment! You or anyone cannot stand naked before God and live! Squeaky Clean?

It has been my experience that folks who have no vices have very few virtues! Abraham Lincoln   Comment: Jesus warned the religious leaders the Pharisees of their cold hearts! The Apostle Paul was a Pharisee who also had a cold heart until his Damascus Road experience with Christ himself! What leads to this cold heart towards the world and others by religious leaders and followers is the false theology that by my good works I can be saved and I am better than others because of my good works! It is a false pride and deception which even Lucifer fell into the same trap! I will exalt myself above God! This same deception continues from generation to generation!
