The word actually means a terrible powerful wondrous lizard. The old word for dinosaur is in your Bible it is the word Behemoth. The word means a colossal beast. If you want a discription of a dinosaur then read Job 40:15-24. The Book of Job was written about 2500 years ago! That is not to say that they were alive here on earth then as the decription of a dinosaur or behemoth was used for comparison purposes! Leviathan is another word used in our Bible and it is a sea serpent! At creation in Genesis 1:24 we know the animals were created by God! After the fall of man through sin against God death came to humans and to animals! Then we have the Flood of Noah where most of all humans except the family of Noah and the animals he put in the Ark survived the judgment from God! We believe then most if not all the dinosaurs perished! It is possible Noah took some baby dinosaurs along in the Ark but we do not know for sure? So the stories of these creatures witnessed by Noah and his family were passed on to future generations including Job.
