Here are some of my experiences purchasing a vehicle on Craig’s List: “Is this John? Yes. Do you have a van for sale! Yes. Are you still asking a thousand bucks? Yes. Are you the owner? Yes. Is your name on the title? No. Who owns the vehicle? My girl friend but we broke up and I bought this vehicle for her so it is my vehicle! John if I purchased the vehicle she would have to sign the title! No! It is my vehicle because I paid for it! If you bring me the cash I will sign her name for her and then you are the new owner! I do not know if this will work John? How is the condition of the vehicle? Excellent! Any mechanical problems? None! Engine runs good and transmission smooth! However the engine has a small knock! If you turn the radio volume up the knock goes away! Does the air conditioner work? It could! If you fix it! Sometimes it blows heat in the summer and cool in the winter! Are the power windows working? Yes except the right side goes down but not up! I have plastic over that side and keeps the rain and snow out of van! Any other problems John? Not that I can recall! Look I work down at Jakes Bar and Grill down on 48th avenue. We open at 8:00 PM and close at 6:00 A.M. Bring the cash down anytime and I will sign the title over to you! It is a safe place to come for the cops are down there all the time! John I think I will have to think about this for a spell before I decide! Nice talking to you!” James
