Jude 1:5 “I will therefore put you in remembrance, though you once knew this, how the Lord, having saved the people out of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.” Commentary: This is equivalent to the fireman trying to rescue you from a burning building and you tell him no thanks I do not need your help! This is what some people do to God! God rescued all the Jews out of Egypt both believers and unbelievers! However after their rescue witnessed by them from King Pharaoh by God with many miracles some continued in unbelief? Jesus died on a cruel Cross for the whole world believers and unbelievers! Yet those that continued in their unbelief after the Cross come under judgment simply because Jesus took their judgment on the Cross and now by rejection of him they receive their own judgment! How would you feel if you died for someone and gave your life for them then they mocked you after your death? Put yourself in God’s place! Would you die for someone you knew later after your death would mock you for doing so? This is the love of God! The love of God includes the judgment of God! If God were to reward the believer and the unbeliever the same he would be unjust! Justice is getting what we deserve but grace is getting what we do not deserve! Eternal life paid for at the Cross! Salvation is not free and to treat it so is unbelief! Unbelief is to mock God and the price he paid for your redemption! As a teenager I gave my grandfather some problems as a rebellious youth! He finally lost his patience with me and said, “Jimmy don’t bite the hand that feeds you”! Your dog has better character than you! Watch your dog’s character and learn from him!
