2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to show thyself [approved] unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed, [rightly dividing] the word of truth.” Dr. Seuss quote: “The more you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you will go!” Commentary: Do you want to be approved of by God? Then read his word! Study it! So what does [approved] really mean from the Greek? To be tried like metals in the fire purified and recognized by God through the furnace of adversity! Wait a minute I thought everyone would love me since I am loving God! Sorry my friend it would be so if we did not have a devil on earth living in people! Opposition comes with acceptance by God! We do not look for it but it will come from all quarters of life! So what does [rightly dividing] mean? It means to be morally straight or upright as opposed to being crooked like a snake! Dr. Seuss says reading will take you to more places in life!
