So where is the first place pray and prayer are used in the Bible? Who cares says the agnostic? If you are a student of the Word of God then you might care! Some say Genesis 4:26, however the word “call” used here is Strong’s #7121 but the word pray is a different Hebrew word Strong’s #4994. Actually the word pray is first used in Genesis 12:13. Where Abram not Abraham yet prayed to his wife to let him tell the King of Egypt that you are my sister and not my wife so the King will not kill me and take you as his wife because you are so beautiful! Abram was not the man of faith yet so there is hope for all of us! Would you not know this prayer involves a woman? Remember Adam told God that it was this woman you gave me is the problem here! Lame excuses! So who was in charge here? I am and if you do not believe me just ask my wife! I am in charge when she allows me to be in charge! I am on a short leash! In the New Testament Acts 2:21 it says whosoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved! The word “calls” means to call God by name! There is no other name under heaven by which men must be saved! His name is Jesus! You see the question is who do you pray to? Allah? Mohammad? Krishna? Budha? Peter? Lucifer? Satan? Idols? Darwin? Government? Angels? If you are not praying to God but your little gods you are in trouble! Your little gods are the ones that you make up to let you get away with sin! Jesus is in heaven right now praying for us! That we might be saved! Saved from what? The deception of Satan that tries to make you believe the lie you can make it without Christ! We cannot make God great again for he is forever great but he can make us great again born again into his Image! But our prayers have to be directed to him! I hear generic prayers often even in Congress but most often the name of Jesus is never mentioned? Are we ashamed of him? He can deliver us from our sin and shame if we will honor him and his name above every name in heaven and in earth! James & Hamsa Sasse. IndiaJesusLovesYouChurch.com
