“A man’s heart diveseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps.” Commentary: Before Christ I devised my own ways! I planned, invested, created idea’s but it did not lead to the peace I thought it would bring to me. I was on a mission to nowhere! In fact it moved me away from God! It was like Christmas without Christ! But after Christ A.D., the Lord directed my steps! He went before me and I followed him! The word direct in the Hebrew means to be steadfast, faithful, reliable, determined and prepared to set things in order! The idea of this word direct in Hebrew used here means to bring something into an incontrovertible existence! That is my faith in Christ is not able to be denied or disputed. Law produces order and without it lawlessness and chaos follows! So when the Lord orders or directs your steps where does it lead? Let us look at some of the characters in the Christmas story. The shepherds on the hills above Bethlehem tending their sheep on a cold winter night! They were nobodies in their culture spending another eventless night guarding their smelly sheep! Then suddenly a bang boom light show from heaven! They were afraid and so would you have been so! Angels and choirs of them announcing the King has arrived! The sheep dogs and the wolves ran away! The Lord directed their steps to a manger in Bethlehem! When the Lord directs your steps he will lead you to Jesus everytime! If you devise your own steps it will lead you away from Jesus every time! The wise men were directed to Bethlehem following his star! Go out into the world and preach the Gospel says the director of heaven! Then there are those that devise and oppose this commandment! The devised plans of men like socialism, Darwinism, wokeism, cancel culture, lawlessness are just a small sample of men devising plans against the Christ of Christmas! The Christ God of creation gets his creation of gender cancelled! However this does not change reality! A world without God is hell on earth! Jesus came to deliver us from our own devises! Take the shot or we will fire you from your job! King Herod wanted worship! When there was competition he sent his government troops to Bethlehem to destroy baby Jesus! He devised a wicked plan! Mothers with young children or pregnant were slain with the sword! God will direct your steps and lead you to Jesus or Satan will lead you away from Jesus! Government demands your worship! Satan demands your worship! Jesus reveals his glory, mercy and redemption to you but you must decide whether to worship him or not! On my death bed I discovered his love for me and since then he has directed my steps towards him everyday for the rest of my life! My faith in him is undeniable and undisputable! How about you? Other Pastors lost their lives in Germany who opposed Socialism! As we celebrate Christmas this season ask yourself what kind of a price would I pay to continue to follow Jesus? Socialism is not a two party system! It will not tolerate any equals! It is a one party system! All competition is eliminated not tolerated! Even God has a two party system! You vote for Heaven or Hell! The secular socialists now for decades have worked hard to remove Heaven from the American landscape! What are the results? Corruption and violence in the streets! With wokeness, cancel culture and the social justice warriors on the prowl America is becoming a very unsafe place to live! Socialism produces insecurity! Economic chaos produces uncertainty! But the design is for you to trust them government and no one else! They want your worship! Caesar wanted worship from his subjects and Jesus spoiled his plans! It cost Jesus everything to purchase our redemption! King Herod ordered the plundering of the children two years old and younger in Bethlehem because he wanted no rival King! The pregnant woman had their babies aborted by the sword because they might be carrying baby Jesus! They knew nothing about Jesus! Evil wicked people catch innocent people in their nets! Socialists will destroy everything and everyone that gets in their way! The arms of government will turn on their own citizens! God has a plan to defeat evil! It is the Christ child from Bethlehem! Luke 2:15 “And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.” Commentary: What is a shepherd? Let us look at the Greek word base used here. The word used is “Poimen”. The word is applied spiritually to Christ! The Good Shepherd! Also as the spiritual Pastor of a flock or congregation! So the good shepherd of the flock went to the shepherds of the sheep to announce they also have a shepherd! Little Caesar sent our 87 thousand new IRS agents to be sure Joseph and Mary and little baby Jesus should be taxed! Little Caesar sent out thousands of FBI agents to find little Jesus in Bethlehem! Joseph, Mary and little Jesus escaped Little Caesar crossing the southern border which was open into Egypt! Elites tell us we are just smelly Walmart shoppers! Some elites tell us we just cling to our Bibles and our sling shots! Goliath wants to intimidate followers of little Jesus! Jesus said they only hate you because they hate me! Still we express the love of God by taking the Gospel to them! God always appears to the nobodies of this world first! I discovered this as a young man on my death bed! My last night on earth a nobody met somebody! His name was Jesus! Do you feel like a nobody right now? Thrown away and betrayed by the world! Then you qualify to be a somebody! Not by your own strength but by his strength! Creator of the world and all life! Judge of the living and the dead! God’s value is always placed on the least of us! Do you value the least of us? I have about a one inch gap between my teeth! In order to maintain my dental hygiene I need a one inch diameter wrangler’s rope so I can floss my teeth! About a twenty five foot long rope should last me until next Christmas! Do not all send me ropes all at once so after I get my first rope I will notify everyone concerned!
