Of the total deaths from COVID-19 for the month of October, 2022, 58 percent of the patients who died were fully vaccinated and fully boosted! These are the facts so everyone has to draw their own conclusions from this data! Are these vaccines over sold as protection? Is this the result of real science or political science? Do the risks outweigh the benefits? Are these vaccines light at the end of the tunnel but as you rush towards the light you find out it is a train? I trust my God to keep me on this earth until my purpose here is completed! Then on to heaven with my Christ forever! The same Christ that has provided for me all these years here on earth! Medicines do save lives and extend life but we must not trust them beyond their limitations! Everyone dies sooner or later so the question is who can carry us beyond the grave? Before takeoff we had an escape plan! Is the terrain at the end of the runway ascending or descending? Are there obstacles at the end of the runway? What is our density altitude? Is it a long or short runway? Are we near full capacity with fuel and passengers? If we try to turn back to airport what is our minimum altitude and airspeed? In a tight turn from level flight our stall speed increases over the wings! Would it be better for controlled flight into terrain? Why not just stay on the ground and get a regular job? God has an escape plan but his plan never changes! The first Greek word we need to look at is the word “promises”. It means to proclaim the promises by word of mouth! You speak his promises to yourself and to others! When Peter was in prison ready to be executed he praised God proclaiming his promises! The earthquake came his chains fell off and the prison doors were opened! The next word is “partakers”. It means to have companions with a common goal! It is the members of your local church! Your family and spreading the Gospel to enlarge the family! You participate with others in your common goal! The next word is “nature”. What is a divine nature? The word nature used here means to grow through germination! An increase in production just like fruit on a tree! Righteousness, peace and joy! Fruit of the spirit! What is corruption in the world through lust? The word “world” used here is the material part of the world excluding time! What is lust? It is the diseased part of our soul causing impulsive sinful behavior. Jesus said we must be born again! Time means to honor! With time you can exercise your escape plan! You can proclaim the Word of God to the world! When time is no more here for you or me our eternity depends on what we did with the time God has given us! The word thanksgiving appears first in your Bible in Leviticus 7:12 and last appears in Revelation 7:12. The Old Testament Hebrew word means to offer God praise for a sacrifice! The New Testament word thanksgiving in the Greek means to receive something as an expression of grace and accept it as one who does not deserve it. Both words point to the same thing! God made a sacrifice for us we do not deserve! We praise God because his love for us initiated the sacrifice! In the American Revolution George Washington proclaimed a day of official public thanksgiving and prayer! However it was not until October 3, 1863 that Abraham Lincoln officially codified Thanksgiving a holiday to be celebrated every year after the Union Army victory at Gettysburg! In the three days of battle at Gettysburg there were 7058 casualties! There were 33264 troops wounded and 10790 troops missing in action! At field hospitals around Gettysburg there were piles of amputated limbs that were buried together! Churches were pressed into service as hospitals! Lydia Smith, a black woman used what little money she had to hire a wagon and horses to gather donated goods delivered to both wounded Union and Confederate Troops! Elizabeth Thorn, wife of the owner of the largest cemetery in the area was pregnant yet she dug over a hundred graves herself! The list of hero’s is too long for room here! America became united that day because of sacrifices made! God unites us together today because of the sacrifice he made on a Cross for us in six hours of suffering! Our Civil War took over six hundred thousand casualties and millions more of our military who were willing to sacrifice for us in wars all over the globe! Is it too hard for us to sacrifice Sunday in worship to our King? The Kingdom of God is a sacrificial system! But it was the sacrifice of God himself for us that made redemption possible for all! One sacrifice for all and many sacrifices for one! America can never be united without a common sacrifice! After Gettysburg America became one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all!
