Do Not Worry About Tomorrow (Part 2) Matthew 6:34

Jesus words, “Take therefore no thought for tomorrow for tomorrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” Commentary: Truth is truth for Jesus spoke these words over two thousand years ago! Here is a quote by Blaise Pascal written over 400 years ago: “The present is never our end. The past and present our means, the future alone our end.” Commentary: I mentioned in the post yesterday on this same subject that the Bible says God has put eternity in our hearts! Jesus disciples got into an argument about which of them was going to be greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven? Jesus told them who is servant of all! They argued about who would be seated next to Jesus at the table in heaven? Jesus said not mine to give but my Father in heaven! It is so amazing that they were worried about their future in heaven! Is this crazy or what? You make it to heaven not based on your own works and then worry about your future there? If I can just save more people than Billy Graham then I will be seated first next to Jesus! If I can do greater works than Jesus then I can be seated in first place there! A famous King of England made a famous observation! He complained about being King because he said it is so boring because there is no place to go? No upward mobility! So in heaven could we worry about our future? Are we that crazy? Yes! This is what happened to Lucifer! He worried about tomorrow even though he had the top job of leading praise worship in heaven! He thought I am the number two guy but not number one! I will start a rebellion in heaven with the angels and become the number one guy above God! So he and one third of angels got cast down to earth and so in the Garden of Eden he told a lie to Adam and Eve to worry about their future and sin against God because he does not have your best interest in mind! Jesus said sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof! A frantic worry about our future causes men to sacrifice people to try to secure their own future rather than trusting God for their future! For our future! That is the cause of men to reject Christ and trust their flawed character to their future! That is what hell is all about! Heaven is about trusting God with your future! Jesus said I have gone back to heaven from where I came to prepare a place for you! Hell is about preparing your future all by yourself in your own efforts apart from God! James & Hamsa Sasse. Do Not Worry About Tomorrow! Matthew 6:34

Let us each examine his thoughts; he will find them wholly concerned with the past or the future. We almost never think of the present, and if we do think of it, it is only to see what light it throws on our plans for the future. The present is never our end. The past and the present our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so. Blaise Pascal Commentary: It is so funny that Jesus disciples got in an argument about who was going to sit next to him at the table in heaven? Thinking about their future? Jesus told them it is not my place to give you your seating arrangements in heaven! You would think making heaven would be enough and not to worry about your position in heaven? But that is the problem Pascal was trying to express in his quote. Jesus said I have gone to prepare a place for you in heaven! You would think that should be enough? No matter how rich or how poor we cannot enjoy today unless we are trusting God with our future! Outside of Christ we have no future! The Bible declares God has put eternity in our hearts! Only he can meet our longing for eternity! He holds our past, present and future and to commit those to him releases us with a joy to enjoy the present! James & Hamsa Sasse. WhoisGod.de
