Jesus Words: “So the last the most extreme remote shall be first, and the first last: for many answer the divine call conforming to God’s saving purpose accepting his invitation.” Commentary: Human equity is based on people doing injustice alleged or real. Problem is all humans are unjust in one way or another! God’s equity is very different! He transcends race, gender, language or culture! He lives out side of time! Jesus through his parable was looking at the time the workers spent in the vinyard! The owner promised the same wage for their labor for a day but he could not control the time they came to work! He paid them all the same! Some of the workers got upset! They wanted to file unfair labor practices and maybe even sue God? This is injustice they say! The last shall be first and the first last! Some people come to Christ early in their life and some later but with the same benefits! Some just before death like the thief on the Cross where Jesus said this day you will be with me in paradise! Young Timothy received Jesus early in his life! Teenagers come to Christ with the same benefits as the elderly! What season you receive Christ is not as important as you have received him! At the judgment seat of Christ some he will defend with everlasting life and some with separation from God! If you never hire for the wage you get no benefits but poverty of spirit leading to death! An eternal death! This life is short but eternity is forever! Are you going to sacrifice your short time here on earth for eternity rejecting the sacrifice Christ has made for you on the Cross? “And Jesus answering spoke unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath day?” Commentary: The religious leaders and the lawyers were watching Jesus carefully trying to find some flaw in him! You would think that group of people would be the most interested in helping people? The Sabbath day is a day of rest ceasing from work and giving thanks to God for his goodness and faithfulness to us! It is an intermission time or half time at the beginning of the new week for reflection on his goodness to us! God created this world we live in and all that we see in six days! Then he rested on the seventh day! If God needs rest how about us? So Jesus asked them is it lawful to heal this crippled man on the Sabbath? But they held their peace and would not answer him? How is it men will not answer God and repent of their sins? So Jesus went ahead and did the merciful thing and healed this crippled man! Then Jesus asked them if a cow or ox you own falls into a ditch will you not get him out on the Sabbath day? Jesus is really asking us is the law made for man or is man made for the Sabbath? Is the earth made for man or is man made for the earth? The planet worshippers the green new deal has everything with men rejecting the God of creation! The law is given for the benefit of man! To protect us from man who has a propensity to sin! Jesus said I am the Lord of the Sabbath! The law sets our boundaries of behavior! The law teaches that we cannot keep the law and need a Savior! All of us have failed to keep the law! If you have to hurt people to keep the law then you are worshipping the law rather than worshipping God! God is love! For the Christian the Sabbath day was moved to Sunday! Jesus rose from the dead on Sunday on the third day! Sunday is the first day of the week for the Christian! Jesus conquered the law of sin and death! Only Jesus kept the law completely because he was more than a man he was God! So we set apart Sunday to honor God and worship him on the Sabbath! We start the new week with God! We honor him with our tithes and offerings! We think on his goodness! Jesus kept the law and went on the Cross for our sin and our inability to keep the law! The penalty for breaking the law is death! He became the sacrifice for us! The one without sin became sin for us! He purchased our redemption with his own blood! Jesus conquered death on Sunday! If we believe the law can save us then we do bad things in the name of the law! Jesus said if you love me keep my commandments! Keeping them through his name! His power and redemption! His resurrection from the dead! We have hope beyond the grave! He will raise us also from the dead! He will raise everyone from the dead the living and the dead some to everlasting life and some to judgment! God will heal you on any day of the week but Jesus had to remind the Pharisees and lawyers that when they worship the law then bad things or evil things are done in the name of the law! Would it be to murder someone? Rape a woman! Kidnap a child? Rob a bank! Hit someone on the road with my vehicle? Live the homosexual lifestyle? Shoot a cop? Steal classified documents and sell them to our enemies? Steal food from a grocery store? Sell child for sexual exploitation? Tell a lie! Cheat on your income tax? These are all horrible sins yet all are forgivable upon repentance to God yet the only unpardonable sin is to reject the judge who can set you free! Reject Christ the only one who has the authority and power to forgive you! God has rendered all judgment unto his Son! Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit! Remember before Jesus ascended to the Father he said I must go so I can send you the Holy Spirit! Also he said I must prepare a place for you in heaven! Two kinds of sinners! Forgiven sinners in heaven and unforgiven sinners in hell. The one and only unpardonable sin is to reject Jesus Christ! Only through Christ can we forgive others because we have been forgiven! Truth crushed to earth will rise again! My aunt Minnie would tell us things like this when we were small children over to her house playing with building wood blocks and other interesting games she had for us to do! She said Jimmy and Tommy every generation will try to crush truth and our Christ back to earth but he will rise again! He will rise again because he is God! Truth never fails! Lies sometimes prevail but truth will expose the lies! As children it stuck with us even though at the time we did not connect the dots until years later! Truth planted in children will produce fruit later on in their lives! I have a friend I used to work with at Robins Air Force Base and now we are both retired. Frank told me that he is paying for his grand children tuition to send them to a private Christian school rather than put them into a public school where they brain wash children into gender dysphoria and all the evil things promoted in public schools! As a man thinketh so is he! Right thinking begins with teaching children truth! I thank God I was surrounded by family that taught me truth! Had me in church every Sunday! Sunday school teachers who cared for my soul! What profits a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul? Your eternity resides inside you right now but the question you must ask yourself is it truth or the lie? Lies try to crush Jesus back to earth but he has risen and will also raise everyone from the dead some to everlasting life and some to everlasting judgment!
